Dr. Gemma Meadows received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee. As a student, she graduated Cum Laude and was the recipient of the Bays Family Scholarship. She was appointed Secretary of Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society for her exemplary professionalism and ethics, an honor attributed to no more than 10% of a single graduating class. Additionally, Dr. Meadows distinguished herself as President of SCO's chapter of the National Optometric Student Association.
Dr. Meadows continued her optometric training through a residency at Southern College of Optometry, specializing in pediatric optometry. She has extensive experience in primary eye care, including pediatric eye exams, contact lens fitting, eye surgery co-management, and the treatment and management of ocular disease.
Dr. Gemma Meadows regularly volunteers as a doctor for public health initiatives such as InfantSEE and has served volunteered her services for VISION USA and the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and Tidewater Optometric Society. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Meadows completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia.
