Gemma Meadows, O.D.

Gemma Meadows, O.D.

Dr. Gemma Meadows received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee. As a student, she graduated Cum Laude and was the recipient of the Bays Family Scholarship. She was appointed Secretary of Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society for her exemplary professionalism and ethics, an honor attributed to no more than 10% of a single graduating class. Additionally, Dr. Meadows distinguished herself as President of SCO’s chapter of the National Optometric Student Association.

Dr. Meadows continued her optometric training through a residency at Southern College of Optometry, specializing in pediatric optometry. She has extensive experience in primary eye care, including pediatric eye exams, contact lens fitting, eye surgery co-management, and the treatment and management of ocular disease.

Dr. Gemma Meadows regularly volunteers as a doctor for public health initiatives such as InfantSEE and has served volunteered her services for VISION USA and the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and Tidewater Optometric Society. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Meadows completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia.

Mark Meadows, O.D.

Dr. Mark Meadows, a native of Williamsburg, received his undergraduate degree in biology from Virginia Polytechnic and State University and graduated Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee. Committed to excellence, Dr. Meadows graduated from SCO with a number of honors, including Beta Sigma Kappa.  

Following graduation, Dr. Meadows completed his residency in Family Practice Optometry at West Tennessee Eye in Memphis, Tennessee. During his residency, he gained expertise in the diagnosis and management of a vast array of ocular and systemic disease conditions.  

Dr. Meadows is a member of the Tidewater Optometric Society, Virginia Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Gloucester Lions Club. Dr. Meadows has lectured on numerous advanced optometric procedures and served as an Ellerbrock Instructor at the American Academy of Optometry.  

He is married to Dr. Gemma Meadows. The two reside in Williamsburg with their two children.

Anne Braim, O.D.

Dr. Anne Braim received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. While at the college, she participated in the Sports Vision Society and Optometric Private Practice Group. She has enjoyed serving the community through various volunteer events such as local vision screenings and Remote Area Medical. Dr. Braim attended Nazareth College of Rochester in New York for her undergraduate studies and was a member of the Women’s Soccer and Golf teams. She enjoys staying active and providing excellent care to all of her patients.

Caroline Wanner, O.D.

Caroline Wanner, O.D.

Dr. Caroline Wanner is originally from Stafford, Virginia. She completed her undergraduate studies at Marshall University, graduating summa cum laude. At Marshall she competed for the Thundering Herd swimming and diving team, served as president of the student optometry club, and earned the All Around Performance in Health Sciences Award. She then attended Indiana University and graduated magna cum laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree. While at Indiana, Dr. Wanner received the Dean’s Academic Scholar Fellowship and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. She also volunteered regularly at the local children’s science museum and for school vision screenings.

When not seeing patients, she enjoys skydiving, hiking, skiing, and spending time with her dog, Joey. Dr. Wanner is excited to be back in Virginia to provide eye care for the Williamsburg community.
