Specialty Lenses

Ask about specialty lenses for your new eyeglasses.

Designer frames may help you look good, but the lenses are what allow you to see well. There are many options to make your lenses lighter weight, non-glare, bifocals without any lines, computer-use designs, transitions that offer sun protection when activated, and different material options that have crisper, clearer optics to give you not only the most optimal vision, but also the most cosmetically-pleasing eyewear available anywhere!

Our philosophy when prescribing glasses is to educate you on the differences in design and quality of lenses available. Superior quality lenses are typically available through large labs and can not be made in just a couple of hours. Some commercial stores offer lenses in an hour or so, but you must understand that you are not receiving the best quality lenses available on the market. We use these larger labs to ensure the best quality lenses. You will not receive these lenses in one hour but we believe the wait is well worth it.

A lens treatment is a special additive that either bonds with the lens, or is built into the lens during the lens manufacturing process. Lens treatments are available as individual additions to lenses, and are also commonly bundled into single lens products for convenience and maximum benefit to your eyes.

Transition® Lenses

Transitions® Lenses are photochromic lenses that are clear until dangerous ultraviolet radiation (UV) is present. Once outdoors, the brighter the sun, the darker Transitions® Lenses become. They turn as dark as sunglasses by automatically reacting to the intensity of UV radiation.

Since Transitions® Lenses block 100% of the sun’s eye-damaging rays and help to reduce painful, discomforting glare, they protect your eyes on cloudy days, sunny days, and everything in between. Transitions® Lenses are the most convenient way for you to protect your eyes from the light you can see and the light you can’t. All while helping to improve the quality of your vision and the long-term health and well-being of your eyes.

That means healthy sight for just about everyone, anywhere, anytime!

UV Protection

The UV rays in sunlight can be harmful to the eyes. Lenses that block 100% UV help to ward off various eye conditions and damage.

Scratch Resistant Lenses

Scratches on lenses are distracting, plain and simple. And they can interfere with lens performance. Scratch-resistant treatments imbued into the lens surface toughen up the lenses making them more durable.

Anti-Reflective Coating (also know as anti-glare)

Crizal® anti-reflection lenses help you see and look your best. In simple terms ,the coating is actually layers of filters on the front and back surface of lenses that allow all of the light to pass through the lens instead of bouncing back as reflection. They are durable, easy to clean, and resist surface static. The most important feature is that the filter increases the amount of light that passes through the lens so you see better, clearer and sharper than before. Anti-reflective coatings make your lenses look almost invisible. from your wardrobe.

Polarized Lenses

Squint no more! In simplest terms a polarized lens is a high tech sunglass filter that eliminates glare and allows light to pass through the lens in only one direction (like miniblinds). It also provides 100% UV protection for your eyes. Without doubt, it’s the lens of choice for driving, fishing, and skiing, golfing and all sunny outdoor activities.

Polycarbonate

They are the strongest of all the optical lenses, these are recommended by the FDA for sports and safety and work best with most rimless frame styles. Think about your lifestyle needs and ask if these are missing from your wardrobe.
